Antenatal Hypnobirthing Courses in Grimsby

I know what you’re dreaming of right now…

If you’re anything like me, you’ll want to read all of the books, plan the nursery, the baby’s first outfit and get everything organised and ready.

For me, that included the birth. I wanted to feel ready. I wanted to know what was happening, why things were happening and to feel like I had control of the situation.

Look no further…

My 10 hour hypnobirthing course teaches you everything you need to know so that you can go into labour feeling confident and prepared.

You and your birthing partner will have a clear idea of what to expect, how to support each other and how to make decisions that are right for you.

And you’ll also be armed with a bank of simple tools and techniques that you can use now, in order to prepare for birth.

Are you ready to…

  • Feel calm and prepared for labour?
  • Trust your birth partner knows exactly how to support you in a useful way?
  • Have the birth that is right for you?

Let’s talk hypnosis…

One of the first things we discuss on the course is the power of your mind.

Well, what if I told you that we can train your mind not to fear birth, we can train your mind to head into birth feeling confident and prepared.

What if I even told you that we could train your mind to be your biggest birthing cheerleader!? All of that is actually possible, and I’m here to show you exactly how it works!

hi, i’m danielle

I know the power of hypnobirthing and the impact it had not only on my pregnancy and labour, but on my life.

I had three very different births with my children and hypnobirthing enabled me to make them all the best that they could be.

I was able to focus, make decisions with a clear head and (let’s be honest) it gave Liam a real focus – he didn’t once fall asleep, moan he was tired or even nip out “for supplies”!

frequently asked questions

Hypnosis is such a misunderstood term – you will most definitely not be clucking around like a chicken! The ‘hypno’ part of hypnobirthing is actually referring to self-hypnosis, which is basically you getting into a deep state of relaxation. You will be fully in control at all points and you can easily bring yourself out of the relaxation.

It’s so common to feel like you can’t relax, especially in a world where we have mobile devices, it’s very rare that anyone actually stops and relaxes anymore. Relaxation is like a muscle, the more we train our bodies and minds to do it, the more powerful it will be. This is where I come in.

I’m going to show you and your birth partner some fantastic tools that you can both use to get yourselves into a lovely relaxed state. And the best bit – these skills can be used at any point throughout your life, so you’re not only learning this for labour, you’re learning a lifelong skill!

Hypnobirthing is all based around science and evidence, you will learn about how to work with your mind and body, in order to make you feel as safe and in control as possible. Hypnobirthing is your journey – you can keep it very scientific, or you can make it woo-woo – I’m definitely up for both!!

Still on the fence? This might help…

Birth Partner not convinced? That’s normal…

When I first mentioned hypnobirthing to my husband, he wasn’t interested at all, but as it was the only antenatal course in Grimsby we could find, he came along. And, hand on heart, he learnt so much from it.

If I ask him now what the best part of hypnobirthing was, he would say that he knew exactly what was happening to my body and he knew how to support me through it.

I’d also go as far as to say that it has helped him with me in so many different situations – when I found out I was being made redundant from my job and was very upset, he told me to focus on my breathing, counting my breaths to bring me back into the moment, and then we talked through my options calmly, using the BRAINS technique that we learnt on the hypnobirthing course.

Caesarean sections and hypnobirthing

Hypnobirthing can absolutely be used for all kinds of birth – vaginal births, inductions, planned and emergency caesareans – the whole lot!

It’s all about the antenatal education, thinking about how to stay calm, in control and how to make the decisions that are right for you and your baby. In fact, there’s even a specific course that I offer, called ‘The Calm Caesarean Birth’, which is available on request.

Do I need to do a hypnobirthing course?

Birth is a little bit like a wedding – it’s ultimately just one day, but it’s one day that is going to have a huge impact on the rest of your life.

We want to try and make that impact a positive one, so just as you would plan for your wedding and spend the money to make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible, making sure you are prepared for the rain as well as the sunshine, we want to plan for your birth.

Making an investment on your birth, rather than maybe a fancy egg chair that they’ll never sit in (from experience!), can mean that you head into labour feeling in control, with a plan of action and steps that you know you can take if you are faced with unexpected events or bumps in the road, to make sure that you approach all decisions with a clear head and make the right decision for you and your baby.
