The Class I Needed as a New Mum (So I Created It)
Posted on May 21, 2025 | By Danielle Springall
I remember one night with my first baby, Paisley. She was about two weeks old. Liam had gone back to work, so I was solo parenting most of the day, and I was completely exhausted.
I was sitting in bed, feeding her for what felt like the tenth time that night already. I hadn’t managed to shower. My water bottle was empty. My teeth hadn’t been brushed.
And there I was, desperately Googling:
“How to get my baby to sleep longer at night.”
But the truth is — I didn’t need more advice. I didn’t need more milestones to compare her to. What I really needed was a hug, a safe space, and someone to tell me I wasn’t completely messing this up.
I’d looked into a couple of baby groups, but they all seemed loud, structured, performance-y. I didn’t want to sing in a circle or list our “achievements” when I felt like I’d barely made it out of bed. I wanted calm. I wanted honesty. I wanted someone to say, “Yeah, it’s hard — you’re not alone.”
So, years later — I created that space.
What I wanted as a new mum
I wanted a class where I could rock up in joggers, baby sick on my shoulder, and not feel like the odd one out. I wanted somewhere it didn’t matter if my baby cried the whole time, fed on and off, or stayed curled up in my arms. I wanted connection, not comparison. A moment of calm in the chaos. A gentle reset when the days all blurred together.
That’s exactly what I now offer to other mums in my baby classes.
And I know I’m not the only one who needed it.

What My baby classes really are
Yes — there’s beautiful baby massage, tummy time support, bonding play, and songs.
But honestly? It’s not about ticking boxes or “developing early.” It’s about slowing down. It’s about you — being held, seen, and supported.
It’s about walking into the room and instantly knowing:
“This space is held for me.”
You’re not “just” a mum here.
You’re a whole human, and you matter too.
Don’t just take my word for it…
Here’s what some of the amazing mums in my classes have said:
“Best baby group I’ve been to.” – Jamie
“Danielle makes you feel comfortable even before you attend class and continues to create a friendly atmosphere throughout. I like that the classes are small and that there’s time to chat for mums during class.” – Jodie
“This group is everything you want from a baby class. There’s no pressure — if your baby’s unsettled, needs feeding or a fresh nappy, it doesn’t matter. Danielle even has nappies you can use if you’ve forgotten one! Such a lovely atmosphere and small enough that you really get to chat. I’d recommend it to any new mum.” – Emily

Maybe you’re where I was
That version of me — tired, scruffy, emotional, fiercely loving — does she feel familiar?
Maybe you’re deep in the fog right now, wondering if baby classes are “worth it.” Maybe you’re not sure your baby will settle… or you will. But I promise you — this isn’t about routines or Instagram-worthy outfits.
It’s about anchoring yourself in one of the most intense transformations of your life.
It’s about the quiet power of being held, just as you are.
Our next block of baby classes is starting soon.
If your baby is under 6 months and you’re craving calm connection, gentle support, and a space where you can just be — this is your invite.
Every class is small, cosy and personal. I encourage you to book a block rather than a drop-in, because something magical happens when you’re all on the same journey together. You’ll build a little community — a WhatsApp group, a few inside jokes, and a sense that you’re not in this alone.
You can book your space here →
Or if you’d rather chat it through first, just send me a DM. No pressure. Ever.
Sending you so much love,
Danielle x
